WIGGINTON

     Wigginton is adjacent and to the west of Haxby. It is a pleasant village with a fair amount of modern dwellings and amenities, about four miles north of York.  It has an excellent sports facility, two pubs the Black Horse and the Cottage Inn which also serves as a restaurant. There are local Anglican and Methodist churches and a modern school along with a small selection of local shops and services etc. The village feature is the lovely duck pond shown below.
