Walking Group 2 Itinerary

 

Friday 27th January    Walking up Headlands Lane to join several snickleways.  Weather permitting, we may visit Westfield Wood.  We return via Wigginton Church.

 

Friday 24th February   Meet at 10.30am   Take Bus No.20 to Poppleton.  We will be walking along quiet roads and a few footpaths in Upper and Nether Poppleton.  We will be returning by bus.

 

Friday 23rd March   Meet at 10.30   Take Bus No 20 to the bus stop on the ring road near the river Ouse.  Walk beside the river to Clifton Bridge.  Walking in the Homestead Park.  Bus or walk to the Theatre Royal for the bus back to Haxby.

 

Friday 27th April  Meet at 9.50   Bus to Wigginton Lane End.  Reliance bus to Ponderosa Caravan Park near Sutton on the Forest.  Walking mostly on bridleways and field paths visiting a nature reserve.  Return by bus to Haxby.

 

Friday 25th May  Meet at 9.50   Bus to Wigginton Lane End.  Reliance bus to Sutton on the Forest.  Walking along country lanes and across fields to the village of Huby and back.  Return by bus to Haxby.

 

Friday 22nd June  Meet at 10.00   Bus to Joseph Rowntree School.  Walking beside Hartrigg Oaks Retirement village, across Bootham Stray, along a cycle path and returning beside the River Foss to New Earswick.  Return by bus to Haxby.

 

Friday 27th July  Meet at 10.15   No.12 bus to West Nooks.  Walking to Strensall along road, field paths and bridleways.  Walking beside the River Foss and visiting Strensall Church.  Return by No.5 bus to the Link Road.  Bus to Haxby

Friday 24th August   Meet 9.50   Bus to Wigginton Lane End.  Reliance bus to Easingwold.  A lovely circular walk to the east of Easingwold walking mostly on field paths.  Return by bus to Wigginton Lane End and Haxby.

 

Friday 28th September   Meet 9.50   Bus to Wigginton Lane End.  Reliance bus to Huby.  Walking in the fields to the west of the village - a very rural walk.  Almost all of the walk is on quiet tracks and field paths.  Return by bus to Wigginton Lane End and Haxby.

 

Friday 26th October  Meet 9.50   Bus to Wigginton Lane End.  Reliance bus to Roseberry Lane, south of Stillington.  A pleasant countryside walk on quiet roads, bridleways and footpaths.  Return by bus from Stillington to Wigginton Lane End.  Bus to Haxby.

 

Friday 23rd November  Meet 10.00   Bus to Clarence Street, York.  A short walk beside the River Ouse followed by a full circuit of the Bar Walls.  Return by bus to Haxby.

Friday 28th December  Meet 10.00   Walking the snickleways of Haxby and Wigginton.  Can we manage not to get lost?! 

 

Friday 25th January 2013   Meet 10.00   Bus to the Nuffield Hospital.  An easy walk along the railway path to Walmgate Stray.  Return to Haxby on the No.20 bus.
